Boys and Girls Cross Country Place Second at DSAC Championships

On October 25, the Diamond State Athletic Championships for cross country were held at Bellevue State Park. The girls varsity team earned 62 points, placing second overall. Key races included a 3rd place by Maddie Priest '24 in the 5000 meter run, followed by Taylor Costa '23 taking 6th and Helen Socorso taking 11th. The boys also placed second overall, with strong finishes by Richie Angiullo '25 at 5th place, followed by Julian Facciolo '23 placing 10th and David Cui '24 placing 12th.
The JV teams also placed high, with the girls taking second overall and the boys team once again taking first. On the girls side, Sophia Tobin '23 placed 5th overall, with Gillie Hendrixson '23 taking 10th. The boys JV team is back to back DSAC Champions, taking first last year and again this season. Sam Wahl '24 placed first in the 5200 meter run, with a time of 19:07:00. Right behind him taking second place was Alex Holt '23, with a time of 19:31:00. Anthony Decamp '25 placed fourth, while Ben Cole '24 placed 7th overall.

On November 5th, the cross country team will compete in the New Castle County Championships, held at Winterthur.
