The Class of 2023 will be celebrating a milestone this week with a college t-shirt day and class college coffee on Wednesday, November 2nd. The November 1st application deadline is the biggest of the year and to date the College Counseling Office has processed almost 1,000 transcript requests. Students have spent the last few weeks putting the finishing touches on essays, completing self-reported transcripts, and reviewing final applications for typos before hitting submit. There’s certainly more work to do; however, the experiences of the early deadlines makes later applications a little more familiar, resulting in less stress.
Quarter 1 grade reports should be available late next week. As discussed in College Seminar class, we will send a survey to all seniors to respond if they wish to share their grades with the colleges they’ve applied to. All seniors are asked to complete the survey.
While we will begin to transition some of our energies to the Class of 2024 as they commence their college search, seniors and their families are encouraged to continue to ask questions. We will be teaching College Seminar until the end of the semester and stay in regular combinations with the Class of 2023 and their families.
Juniors
As a reminder, the required Junior Panel is Thursday, November 17th at 6:30 in the SLC. All members of the Class of 2024 are required to attend and your families are invited as well. We will welcome five college admission professionals from around the country to provide guidance about the college search and application process, and respond to questions from the audience. The program will serve as a sudo kickstart to the college search process and we will begin to meet with juniors individually soon after this program. While first year and sophomore students and families are not required to attend, they would be welcomed.
