Bill DiNardo '76, Sallies Head Football Coach, Celebrates 300 Wins

Bill DiNardo's football career ended on Sept. 30, 1974, his 16th birthday. An awkward tackle ruptured his spleen and injured a kidney. Surgery was required and Archmere’s reliable junior halfback missed the rest of the season. When he wasn’t medically cleared to resume playing the next fall, the Auks’ coaches asked him to take on a new role – assistant coach for the junior varsity.

 

“I loved it,” he said. “Something clicked.”
