Brendan Burke ’24 to Play Lacrosse at Lafayette College

Brendan Burke, senior at Archmere Academy, signed his letter of intent to join Lafayette College’s lacrosse team on November 8, 2023. A Division I program out of Easton, Pennsylvania, the Lafayette men’s lacrosse team has competed in the Patriot League since its 1991 founding. Ranked a “Top Defenseman in the State” both his sophomore and junior seasons, Brendan helped lead the Auks to the DIAA State Semifinals each year. 
Brendan has been a three-time DSAC All-Conference award winner, has earned 2nd Team All-State honors his freshman and sophomore years, and named a 1st Team All-State selection his junior year. A varsity starter since freshman year, Brendan helped lead the Archmere boys lacrosse team to three undefeated Diamond State Athletic Conference records and three conference championships. He was voted Team Captain both his junior and senior seasons. 
 
Brendan’s lacrosse career began at an early age. His elementary years were spent playing with the Wilmington Wings, where he initially began playing and learning the game. He also participated in the Rippin’ Rope Lacrosse Club camps, which are owned by Archmere Academy’s Head Lacrosse Coach, Pete Duncan. In addition to his high school lacrosse team, Brendan has also played for nationally ranked teams. For several years,  Brendan has competed with Brotherly Love Lacrosse, a nationally ranked club team out of Wilmington, DE and West Chester, PA, and with Premier Nationals, an invitation only national lacrosse team.
 
In addition to lacrosse, Brendan has played a central role on the Archmere football team, earning 2nd Team All-District and All-Academic honors. The team has reached the state playoffs each year Brendan has played, with a State Championship title his sophomore year. 

An athlete who excels in the classroom, Brendan is a member of the National Honors Society as well as the Spanish and Science National Honor Societies. A graduate of Saint Edmond’s Academy in Wilmington, Delaware, Brendan plans to study Economics at Lafayette College.
