Cheer Team Helps "Make Strides Against Breast Cancer"

For the third year in a row, the Archmere Cheerleading team, accompanied by Head Coach Valerie Wright, helped lead the crowd at the 23rd annual American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on Sunday, October 26, 2025, held at Bellevue State Park each year.
As featured volunteers, the cheerleaders rallied the crowd in preparation for the day's walk, leading line dances, supporting the drum lines from Mt. Pleasant and McKean High Schools, and assisting in activities during the Survivor's Celebration. They also cheered on the event's keynote speakers, who themselves are survivors of breast cancer.

After the opening ceremony, the team, accompanied by several members of the varsity football team for the first time this year, cheered on and guided the walkers, offering encouragement and positivity as groups began and ended their walk.

Making Strides events are held throughout the nation, but this local event, which is sponsored by Delaware Imaging Network, supports people in the Delaware community by raising lifesaving funds to support breast cancer patients, survivors, thrivers, and caregivers through every step of their journey. It also allows for young women like the cheer team to hear firsthand how they can take care of themselves and have a long and healthy future.
