Two Archmere Graduates Awarded Prestigious Fulbright Grants to Spain
Archmere Academy is proud to announce that 2022 graduates Jocelyn Zavala Garcia and Alexandra Harrington have both been selected for a highly competitive Fulbright U.S. Student Program grant for the 2026–2027 academic year. Jocelyn and Alexandra will travel to Spain as part of the program, which is widely recognized as the U.S. government’s flagship international academic exchange initiative.
The Fulbright Program, administered by the Institute of International Education in partnership with the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, supports outstanding students and young professionals in pursuing research, study, and teaching opportunities abroad. Since its founding in 1946, the program has fostered mutual understanding between nations while advancing knowledge and innovation across disciplines.
Jocelyn and Alexandra’s selections reflect their academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to making a meaningful impact in their field and community. As a Fulbright recipient, both girls join a distinguished global network of nearly 450,000 alumni, including heads of state, Nobel laureates, Pulitzer Prize winners, and leaders in business, education, and the arts. Jocelyn is a student at Villanova University, while Alexandra attends Clemson.
During their time in Spain, Jocelyn and Alexandra will engage with local communities, contribute to cross-cultural collaboration, and represent the United States as citizen ambassadors. Their work will support the Fulbright Program’s mission of addressing global challenges and building lasting international partnerships.
Archmere congratulates Jocelyn and Alexandra on this remarkable achievement and looks forward to following their journey as Fulbright scholars.
