Mothers' Guild Garage Sale: The Big Show

The day for Archmere Garage Sale is rapidly approaching – a week-long event, anticipated and appreciated by the Claymont community, as well as by Archmerians.  This event takes lots of preparation and help to pull off, so please consider where you might be able to lend a hand.

Saturday, March 19th is “Move-In Day” from 9 a.m. until around noon.  If anyone has big items such as furniture, patio stuff, etc., we will be glad to have it.  We need volunteers to help us move all the stuff stored in the garage area and move it into the gyms.  Men & guys are very much needed, as is anyone with a truck.
Computer monitors, mattresses, baby car seats/potties cannot be accepted.

Saturday, February 26, 9 a.m.- 12p.m. is also a “drop-off day”

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday during the week of March 20, we will be in the gym sorting, tossing & setting up from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.  We have a continental breakfast, delicious lunch, and a sumptuous supper for our volunteers.  You don't need to worry about eating before you come, we will feed you, quite well, too.  Any and all are welcome. ??Thursday, we will be in the gyms starting at 9 a.m., generally finishing up & pricing items. Thursday night at 6pm, we have a wine & cheese night for the volunteers.  Anyone who has worked a couple hours can come to enjoy some light fare and appetizers, while shopping and bidding on coveted items with one another.

Friday, March 25 volunteers start at 9 a.m., preparing for the student and staff sale which begins at 2:30 p.m.  The sale is open to the Archmere students, staff, and their families.  We clean up & straighten the place up a little; we usually wrap up by 4 p.m.  ??Saturday, March 26:  “The BIG SHOW” Volunteers arrive around 8 a.m. to get ready for the doors to open at 9 a.m. We need cashiers, roamers, and baggers. We are again asking the Girls' Volleyball team to help out with bagging, and assisting people who need extra help getting purchases out to their cars.  Additionally, we need a couple of men to help carry big items, but more importantly, to keep an eye out, since there's a lot of money being gathered.  At 12:30 p.m., more volunteers are needed, as we start to break it all down. The sale closes at 1 p.m.  Last year, the Soccer and Lacrosse teams helped out and the work by the teams was very much appreciated.  We would welcome having them come again.

Please contact Jean O’Neill at jeanpigs@comcast.net if you have questions about the garage sale.
