Archmere Academy wins Highest Honors in WordMasters
Two teams of students representing Archmere placed in the top 10 and top 20 teams nationally.
Archmere Academy's eleventh graders tied for seventh place in the nation in the year's third WordMasters Challenge meet, and the academy's tweltfth graders tied for fourteenth. Several students came home with high honors for individual achievement, as well: Elizabeth Barr '12, Christine Holmes '12, Austin Schatzman '12, John Simons '12, Caroline Kirkwood '11, Evi Lowman '11, and Michael McGurk '11 all earned perfect scores in the meet for thier grade levels, where in the entire country only 90 eleventh and 153 twelfth graders did so. Alexia Hazel '12, Caitlin Hedgepeth '12, Payakl Patel '12, Nina Reed '12, and Karen Shantz '12 all earned honorable mention. More than 53,000 students from across the country (and from foreign nations) participated in the meet.
