Several Archmere Students Honored in Delaware College of Art and Design Competition

DCAD recognized five distinquished works in the exhibit for major art awards, two of which were created by Archmere srudents Jack Byrnes '12 and Elizabeth Barr '12.
Several Archmere students were honored recently for their artwork in a competition sponsored by the Delaware College of Art and Design. Annually, DCAD mounts a juried high school exhibition, limited to a few entries from each school. This March, there were over 120 artworks exhibited at the DCAD Gallery representing schools from Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. DCAD recognized five distinguished works in the exhibit for major awards.
Two of these five awards were merited by Archmere students: Jack Byrnes '12 for his Architectural Design/Model "Get-a-Way Retreat for Steven Spielberg" and Elizabeth Barr '12 for her Acrylic Painting,"The Artist's View." The reception and awards ceremony was held on March 19 at DCAD.
