Archmere Alumnus Honored by Daily Times Columnist

I want to be like Fred Neeson when I grow up. Consider: He hops out of bed around 7 each morning, strolls a couple of blocks to Chichester High and does a quick 2½-mile walk around the track. I’m lucky to fall out of the sheets before 9 and my morning exercise consists of stumbling downstairs to turn on the coffeepot.
Some days Neeson motors to Conchester Lanes, where he is a 155-average bowler. My right arm is so atrophied I have difficulty combing my hair.
So what’s the big deal, you might ask. Lots of guys walk a couple of miles in the morning and still have enough energy to bowl a three-game series. The big deal is that Neeson is 89 years old and shows absolutely no signs of slowing down.
