Rachel Gillen '11 selected for 2011 ESPN RISE Under Armor All-America Softball Game
Named two-time Player of the Year by The News Journal, Rachel Gillen '11 qualified for the ESPN RISE game at a four-day gathering of the nation's 30 best high school softball players in Orlando, Fla.
Archmere Academy's Rachel Gillen, named a two-time Player of the Year by The News Journal, has been selected to play in the 2011 ESPN RISE Under Armour All-America Softball Game, part of the ESPN RISE Games.
A four-day gathering of the nation's 30 best high school softball players was recently held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.
The 5-foot-9 left-hander went 18-1 with an 0.41 ERA and 253 strikeouts in 120 innings this season. Gillen tossed 12 shutouts and five no-hitters while also batting .679 with 31 RBIs.
For her career, Gillen went 69-10 with an 0.33 ERA and 1,150 strikeouts and only 87 walks in 515 innings.
