Madeline Buckley '11 named Wiliam Smith Athlete of the Week

Maddy Buckley '11, varsity soccer player at William Smith College and former 3-sport athlete for Archmere (XC, basketball and soccer) was credited with her first collegiate goal on Saturday, netting the game-winner in a 1-0 triumph over Vassar, and earning the title of "athlete of the week."
From HWSAthletics.com: Third time's a charm. Buckley was finally credited with her first collegiate goal on Saturday, netting the game-winner in a 1-0 triumph over Vassar. The previous afternoon, she scored the lone goal at Bard, but the match was interupted by lightning before it was official, negating the stats. Buckley's foot was the last to touch the Herons' only goal in the season-opener at Misericordia as well, but the official scorer ruled it an own goal after the Cougars' goalie misplayed the corner kick - watch on YouTube.
