German Field Trip to Delaware Sängerbund

Thirteen students participated in a field trip to the Delaware Sängerbund (German American Society) on Friday, March 23. The students participated in several workshops and were involved in a variety of activities. In one workshop students learned how German immigrants lived and worked at the end of the 19th Century in Wilmington. In another workshop students were familiarized with the tradition of the Maypole. Students especially enjoyed learning new folk dancing steps and learning traditional German folk songs. Here are some picks from our field trip.
