Joseph "Skip" Kuhn: Class of 1965

A 1969 graduate of the University of Delaware, Dr. Joseph "Skip" Kuhn earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. A founding physician of Nephrology Associates, P.A. in Newark, Skip retired from the practice in 2012.  He now serves as the Senior Consultant to the Chief Medical Officer of Fresenius Medical Care, the largest supplier of dialysis services and products in the U.S. and internationally.
Professional experience, educational background, and interests: 
A 1969 graduate of the University of Delaware, Dr. "Skip" Kuhn earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. Skip recently retired from Nephrology Associates, P.A., a practice of kidney specialists that he helped to start in 1973. During his career, the practice grew to 26 Nephrologists, 14 Nurse Practitioners, and over 100 employees servicing the state of Delaware as well as Northern Maryland.  

Skip also previously served as the Chief of Section of Renal and Hypertensive Diseases at Christiana Care Health Systems and St. Francis Hospital as well as the Former Governor of the Delaware Chapter of the American College of Physicians and the President of the Delaware Academy of Medicine. Skip's daughter Katie is a 1995 graduate of Archmere. 

Retired from the Nephrology Associates, P.A. practice, Skip now serves as the Senior Consultant to the Chief Medical Officer of Fresenius Medical Care, the largest supplier of dialysis services and products in the U.S. and internationally. 

Candidate's Statement: 
 I was a member of the  Archmere Alumni Council in the mid 1990s and would like to once again contribute to the organization and school. I felt the school was the center of my life in the early 1960s and remains near and dear to my heart as it prepared me well for my life once I left.
