Archmere Junior Wins National Swimming Title

Ben Creekmore '14 represented the Brandywine YMCA at the YMCA National Swimming Championships from April 3-6, 2013, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, NC. Over 1,500 high school age swimmers from all over the United States and Canada participated in the competition. He placed 4th in the 100 yard butterfly and 13th in the 100 yard freestyle at finals, in addition to swimming on 5 relays. Two of those relays also returned to finals. In the 200 yard freestyle and 200 yard butterfly, Ben is the 2013 YMCA National Champion placing 1st in both events. Ben is the Brandywine YMCAs first short course national champion. With the times he achieved in these two events, he qualified for the 2013 U.S. Open at William Woollett, Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine, CA on July 30-August 3, 2013.
