A 1983 graduate of St. Joseph's University with a B.S. in Public Administration, Mike serves as Senior Vice President for Development with The Buccini/Pollin Group. Mike has also attended Fels Center of Government at the University of Pennsylvania.
Professional experience, educational background, and interests:
Mike is employed with The Buccini/Pollin Group as Senior Vice President for Development. His responsibilities include development management, acquisitions, public investment and government relations. He has recently led development projects for BPG that include PPL Park, Westin Wilmington Hotel, Penn Cinema, DCAD Dormitory and Bloom Energy Delaware Manufacturing Facility.
Prior to joining the Buccini/Pollin Group, Mr. Hare served as the Deputy Director of the Riverfront Development Corporation of Delaware (RDC), where he helped lead the $1 billion transformation of the Wilmington Riverfront from 1995-2008. Mr. Hare was employed by the Delaware Economic Development Office starting in 1989 most recently serving as a Senior Development Specialist prior to being assigned to the RDC by Governor Thomas R. Carper in September, 1995. Mike served on the Wilmington City Council as an At-Large Member where he served on the Finance, Housing, and Licenses and Inspection Committees.
A native of Wilmington, Mike attended Saint Joseph's University and received a B.S. in Public Administration. He also attended Fels Center of Government at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mike serves on the Board of Directors for Archmere Academy (term expiring after June 30, 2013), the Latin American Community Center, the Salvation Army, the Delaware Stadium Corporation, Friends of the Woodlawn Library, Riverfront Wilmington Improvement District, and the Rivers Edge Community Development Corporation. He is the Co-Chair of the Father James Trainor scholarship Fund. He attends Saint Elizabeth RC Church where he is President of the Parish Council.
Mike serves as the Co-Chair of the Saint Patrick’s Day Society which has raised more than $2 million for the Saint Patrick’s Center which provides vital services for the underserved on Wilmington’s east side.
Candidate's Statement: I am seeking election to the recently reformulated Alumni Council in the hope that my experience and passion for Archmere could be an asset in energizing fellow Alums in supporting Archmere now and into the future.
