Archmere Senior Kate Payne to Play Lax for the Hawks

On Thursday, November 14, Archmere Academy senior and Ursuline alumna Katelyn Payne of Hockessin, DE, formalized her agreement to play women’s lacrosse at Saint Joseph’s University.
 A center/midfielder for the Auks, Kate was captain of the lacrosse team her junior year and received All-State Honors. She played club lacrosse with SEPA and the Phantastix, and was selected to the US Lacrosse Eastern Shore regional team as a junior.  
 
A multi-sport athlete, Kate was also captain of the Cross Country team at Archmere her senior year and ran in the State Championship. She received All Conference Honors for the 2013 season. Captain of the Archmere girls’ Varsity Basketball team for the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons, Kate received All Conference Honors during her junior year. Kate also played AAU basketball for the Wilmington Tigers.
 
Aside from athletics, Kate enjoys art and participating in school clubs. She is a Senior Leader and a member of the National Honor Society at Archmere, and plans to study business or medicine at Saint Joseph’s.
