Archmere Students Raise Money for Charity on the Courts

This semester, Archmere students raised over $17,000 for local charities just by having fun on the court! On Saturday, February 22, the students hosted a Blue/Gold Charity Basketball Game for the DFRC and on Saturday, March 8, they organized a volleyball tournament for the B+ Foundation.
The DFRC Blue/Gold Chairty game featured senior athletes from the boys' and girls' varsity basketball teams along with several athletes from Special Olympics of Delaware. Admission game included a Blue or Gold T-Shirt (designed by Senior Blue Gold Ambassador, Jordan Aulen) and proceeds from each admission ticket was donated to  DFRC – Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with Intellectual DisABILITIES. The game raised $2,800 for the cause.

Students, faculty, and staff participated in the B+ Volleyball Tournament, which featured teams of six, playing on two courts in the fieldhouse.  The night was a huge success, as the Archmere community was able to raise over $15,000 for The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, which raises money to support families dealing with childhood cancer.
