Ben Creekmore '14 Named YMCA Short Course National Champion

Ben Creekmore attended the YMCA National Short Course Championship from April 1 to April 4, 2014 in Greensboro, NC. There were over 1,400 swimmers in attendance from all over the United States. Going into this meet, he was the defending 2013 YMCA Short Course National Champion in both the 200 free and the 200 fly. For individual events this past week, Ben swam the 100 fly (placing 1st in the C final), 200 free (placing 3rd in the A final), and 200 fly (placing 1st in the A final). For the second year in a row, he is the YMCA Short Course National Champion in the 200 Fly.

In addition to individual events, he also swam all five team relays - 200 free relay (placing 10th), 400 medley relay (placing 18th), 200 medley relay (placing 5th), 800 free relay (placing 7th), and 400 medley relay (placing 4th). This is the fifth year Ben has qualified and attended YMCA National Short Course Championships. He is a multi-event YMCA All-American and eligible in multiple events for the 2013-2014 USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team.
