Drama Club to Compete in West Chester University's Theatre Festival April 30

The Archmere Academy Drama Club is taking the one-act play, Asylum, to West Chester University's High School Theatre Festival on Wednesday, April 30. Seven schools will perform one-act plays (plays that are less than one-half hour in length) and will receive live feedback on their performances from a panel of judges.  In the afternoon, while judges confer, the students take part in an acting workshop.  Then, shows are awarded "Best Show," "Best Actor / Actress," "Best Ensemble," etc.

Archmere's Drama Club will perform David Bush's play, Asylum. The play is a look into the lives of eight inmates in a sanitarium - the audience is taken on a whirlwind ride through the lives of these patients. During an art therapy session, we find out their individual back stories and what brought them to this place.  All-in-all the play is about these patients finding a home in the chaos of their worlds.
The Club's final dress rehearsals for the competition will be held on Monday, March 28, with open house previews at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. (The show is 30 minutes long.)
