Students enrolled in the Chinese language program at Archmere participated in a Chinese Culture Fair at the University of Delaware hosted by the Confucius Institute on Friday, September 26. Ryan Lairdieson '17, Catherine Falkenstein '17, Daniel Bannon '15, Charlie Liston '17, Anna Martino '18, Rachel Grant '18, and Nikoleta Testa '18 with Archmere Chinese instructor, Ms. Kezhan Yang, participated in a variety of events including performing a Chinese folk dance and dubbing the film "Kung Fu Panda" in Chinese.
Jointly presented by UDCI and Xiamen University (XMU), the Grand Performance features award-winning artists and musicians from China’s renowned Xiamen University, who will be performing classical Chinese music works, dance suite of different dancing styles, ethnic vocal music, Chinese painting and calligraphy in the accompaniment music of traditional Chinese instruments, as well as other theatrical pieces like you’ve never seen them before. The event will dazzle audiences with a unique signature performance, enthralling them with an exciting and theatrical experience of fascinating Chinese culture.
