Herman was a three-sport athlete while he attended Archmere, playing basketball, football, and track. His freshman year, he earned the Boys Basketball Freshman Team Most Improved Award. As a member of the 1976 team that made it to the State Finals, Herman was named Second Team All-State Running Back and First Team All-Catholic in football.
Herman was a three-sport athlete while he attended Archmere, playing basketball, football, and track. His freshman year, he earned the Boys Basketball Freshman Team Most Improved Award. As a member of the 1976 team that made it to the State Finals, Herman was named Second Team All-State Running Back and First Team All-Catholic in football. He was also the second place scoring leader with nineteen touchdowns that year. As a senior on the track team, Herman completed the 100 yard dash in just 9.9 seconds. Herman was also a part of the 1977 DSAA Basketball State Tournament semi-finalist team.
Herman went on to play football at Randolph-Macon University, where he earned the title as ODAC Varsity Football Kickoff Return Leader from 1977 to 1980. Herman placed second in the nation for the NCAA Division III Kickoff Returns in 1979.
After attending Commerce Real Estate School at Texas A&M, Herman received his Texas Real Estate License in 2005 and his Delaware Real Estate License in 2013. Herman now works for Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, Fox & Roach Realtors and resides in New Castle, DE with his wife Tina. They have four children and six grandchildren.
