Archmere sophomore Conor McAvinue was named a recipient of the Coastal Concerts Scholarship, an annual scholarship awarded to a student in music performance, education, or composition. Awarded to three musically gifted high school students each year, the $1500 scholarship is intended to defray expenses incident to the study of music including tuition, fees, and travel.
After submitting a letter specifying the purpose, place and time frame in which the money will be used, and outlining career plans or goals in music, Conor was also required to provide a synopsis of his music experience, along with at least two letters of recommendation from educators or music professionals and an audio recording of two contrasting selections. As a scholarship recipient, Conor will be recognized during the final performance of Coastal Concerts’ 2014-15 season on March 21, 2015.
