Gia Mariano '18 Plays Leading Role in "Once On This Island"
Set in the French Antilles islands in the Caribbean Sea, Once On This Island is a captivating legend of romance between a peasant girl and a rich city boy whom she saves from death. Archmere sophomore Gia Mariano '18 plays the lead role as the orphan Ti Moune, the peasant girl on a tropical island who uses the power of love to bring together people of different social classes.
As part of Everett Theatre's The Playground Series this summer, the show includes elements of the Romeo and Juliet story and elements of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale The Little Mermaid. Everett Theatre is located in the historic town of Middletown, DE. The show's last performances are this weekend: August 28 and 29 at 7:30pm and August 30 at 2pm.
