Danielle Cuoco '18 Hosts "Rockin' 4 Nemours" Event at AI DuPont Hospital for Children

In looking for ways to creatively share her love of live music with children staying at the AI DuPont Hospital, Archmere sophomore Danielle Cuoco created and performed in the first ever Rockin’ 4 Nemours event on December 5th.  Prior to the event, Danielle submitted a proposal to the hospital's Department of Child Life, Creative Arts and School Programs ("Child Life Program") to host this live music concert for the patients and their families. The Child Life Program creates and supports unique opportunities such as this to help make the hospital a positive experience for their young patients. Danielle’s concept was to create an opportunity for the children to enjoy live music performed by young artists in a safe, comfortable and relaxing setting – an experience that they might otherwise not be able to enjoy given their health circumstances. The Child Life Program enthusiastically accepted Danielle's proposal, and Rockin' 4 Nemours was born.

Danielle recruited fellow musicians from the Archmere Mastersingers to perform, and the emcee of the evening was Tim Dougherty. Many of the children were able to enjoy the concert, including those who watched from the floors above because they were unable to leave their floors. Sponsors provided snacks and refreshments for patients and their families. Generous event sponsors included Gable Music Ventures, Electro Sound Systems, The Kenny Family Foundation, The Philly Pretzel Factory, BJ's and Archmere Academy.
