Archmere Academy Dramatics Presents "The Will Rogers Follies"

The Archmere Academy Performing Arts Department is proud to present its production of The Will Rogers Follies, a musical with book by Peter Stone, lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, and music by Cy Coleman. The musical runs February 25-27 at 7 PM in the Archmere Theater. This year over sixty students, cast and crew, will be involved in the production.

The Will Rogers Follies focuses on the life and career of famed humorist and performer Will Rogers, and describes every episode in his life in the form of a big production number. The play seeks to convey the personality of this quintessentially American figure whose most famous quote was "I never met a man I didn't like."

With the participation of nearly sixty students (cast, crew, design, publicity), this show benefits from their talents and enthusiasm. The show features renowned musical numbers including "It's a Boy", "Our Favorite Son", "Big Time", “No Man Left for Me", and "Never Met a Man I Didn't Like". English teacher Tim Dougherty directs, while Music Department chair David Ifkovits, music teacher Damian Demnicki ‘86, and Shauna Goodman lead the music, set design/construction, and choreography, respectively. Diane Ciarrocchi (parent of seven alumni), Jennifer Courtney and Mary Grace Quinn (current parents) organize costumes.

Tickets for the musical production can be purchased at the door, and are $5 for students/staff (any school) and senior citizens; $10 for general admission.
