Archmere Art Students John Vaile '16 and Meredith Capuli '17 Earn National Awards
The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards program gives thousands of students throughout America the opportunity to broaden their creative horizons while earning local and national recognition. The objective is to foster the confidence of young artists and give them the opportunity to be recognized for their creative achievements by the world at large. Archmere senior John Vaile '16 has earned an American Vison Award for his sculpture "Aries" and Archmere junior Meredith Capuli '17 has won a Gold Award for her painting "Sunday Morning Breakfast".
John and Meredith were both identified by panels of creative professionals as one of "the most talented young artists and writers in the nation". Over 320,000 works of art and writing were submitted, while only the top 1% were recognized at the national level. John and Meredith have been invited to attend a ceremony at the world-famous Carnegie Hall on Thursday, June 2nd.
