Monthly College Counseling Update: October 2016

With 85% of the senior class having an early deadline in the month of November or earlier, and many other students applying this month to rolling admission schools, the College Counseling Office is extremely busy processing document requests and assisting students with their applications. We will also host over 110 college representative visits between September and November. By the end of October every senior will have had their third individual meeting with us to finalize, or begin to finalize, their application plan.

Upcoming programming includes a Financial Aid/Early FAFSA Night on October 18th, Highly Selective Mock Alumni Interviews throughout October, and the College Panel Night on November 16th, which is required for juniors. Following the College Panel Night, we will begin to meet individually with the Class of 2018.

In late September we attended the National Association for College Admission Counseling’s (NACAC) annual conference in Columbus, Ohio. NACAC is the premiere association having members from both the secondary school and higher education side of the college admission process. Prior to the conference we were able to visit the campuses of Ohio State, Xavier, Cincinnati, Dayton, and Miami University. At the conference, Ms. Souza served on a panel that addressed over a thousand first time attendees to the conference and Mr. Boehm presented an educational session with over a hundred college representatives in attendance.
