Da'Naziah Brown '17 Named Athlete of the Week

Archmere senior Da'Naziah ("Nay") Brown has been named The News Journal's Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance on the basketball court, particulary in the game against Conrad last Tuesday. Da'Naziah had fifteen points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals in the thrilling game that resulted in a one point loss for the Auks.

Varsity Head Coach Dan Pisani states of Da'Naziah's talent, “When you need her to start scoring, when your offense starts to stall, she’s going to step up and get her shots off,” Pisani said. “The kid has ice in her veins. The tougher the game, the better she plays.”

The News Journal article quotes Brown as saying, "I love defense, better than offense,” Brown said. “I love putting pressure on the opponents and trying to get steals and blocks, offensive rebounds and defensive rebounds.”

The Auks, 5-1, will be on the road over the holidays competing in a tournament in Garnet valley.
