Archmere senior Brennan Stark, co-founder of Y Innovations Inc., was a key speaker at the Independence School's TEDxYouth program on Sunday. The day focused on giving students inspiration to not only create change, but also move it forward in the community and the world. Brennan co-founded the nonprofit Y Innovations Inc. last year, aiming to provide affordable, sustainable housing to low-income and homeless families.
The theme of this year’s TEDxYouth program was to talk about how to best "pay it forward", even at a young age. In its inaugural year, the TEDxYouth program featured speakers who were in their late 20's to 30's. This year, they expanded to high school students such as Brennan who have shown leadership and the ability to "create a movement".
The mission of Y Innovations Inc. is to develop innovations and stimulate public interest in key areas of rapidly developing technology in the hopes of leading humanity into a bright future. The News Journal featured the company this winter for their first sustainable development project, a small storage shed built this fall at the Siegel JCC.
