Monthly College Counseling Update: April 2017

Why Business? Recap

We had fifty guests attend an outstanding Why Business? panel. Our guests discussed topics ranging from the broadness of majoring in business to what makes a strong applicant for employment and everything in between. Michael Gaynor, Director of Admissions at Villanova, shared the expectations for applicants to the business school and that this year was an incredibly selective one. Dr. Porth, Dean of Saint Joseph University’s Haub School of Business, gave a wonderful description of the freshman and sophomore year curriculum.  A review of the program will be posted on our blog later this week.

Upcoming Programs

On April 10th we held a Freshmen and Sophomore Parent Night, and on May 15th will host the After School College Workshops and that evening attend the Wilmington Case Studies & College Fair at Salesianum. We have over 80 families registered for the Parent Night and will email registration information to juniors for the After School Workshop after break. All families will be invited to the Case Studies program at Salesianum.

Seniors Make Their Decisions...

Seniors are beginning to make their final enrollment decisions. This process includes reviewing financial aid awards, visiting campuses one last time, and discussing final decisions with friends and family. We will host our final College Coffee after the break and are excited to celebrate decisions with seniors at our May 1st celebration.
