Ariana Abbrescia ´17 Recipient of the 2017 National Spanish Exam Senior Scholarship

The National Spanish Examinations are a motivational contest to recognize student achievement in the study of Spanish and to stimulate further interest in the teaching and learning of Spanish. They are online, standardized assessment tools for Grades 6 -12, given voluntarily by about 4000 teachers throughout the United States to measure performance (interpretive communication) and achievement of students who are studying Spanish as a second language.

2017 Archmere graduate Ariana Abbrescia was recently announced as a second place winner, and received a $1,000 scholarship. Ariana scored at or above the 75th percentile on the 2016 NSE - Level III (or above) and scored at or above the 75th percentile on the 2017 NSE - Level IV (or above), which determined her eligibilty for the National Spanish Exam. She was one of 48 students in the nation who received a $1000 scholarship.
