Archmere Wrestling Defeats DMA for First Time Since 2010

On Wednesday, January 24, the undefeated Archmere wrestling team took on DMA, also without a loss, at home. In an exciting back and forth match, the Auks defeated DMA 37-36, their first win over their conference foe since 2010.

Archmere entered the final two contests of the evening trailing 36-30 after they forfeited the 160-pound match. The meet came down to Nolan Collins '19 at the 170 pound level who came through with a critical win, earning much needed points going into the182 pound finale where senior Clayon Brooks was ready and waiting. Clay won the match 12-0, giving his team the 4th point they needed to win the meet.

Sean Greene of WDEL writes, "On the strength of wins over Charter School of Wilmington and DMA, Archmere has won the two key matches in the conference race, and now must only avoid major upsets to win the Diamond State Athletic Conference title."
