Frequently Asked Questions

Is Archmere a boarding school?

Archmere is a day school only and does not offer a boarding option. We do have a partner company that can help arrange homestay for a fee

Is there financial aid available for international students?

There is no financial aid for international students. Tuition must be paid in full at the beginning of the school year. There is also a program fee for our International Students.

Do students need health insurance to attend Archmere Academy?

Yes, all international students must have health insurance. They must also carry expatriation and repatriation insurance.

Does Archmere have an ESL or ELL program?

Archmere does not have English as a Second Language or English Language Learner programs. Because our international students join our American students in all classes, each student accepted into Archmere needs to demonstrate strong abilities in written and spoken English. Students must demonstrate this knowledge through strong scores on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), as well as a writing sample and personal interview. A TOEFL 90+ is required for entry into Archmere.

Do you take new international students in the second semester beginning in January?

Generally, all international students are accepted to begin only at the start of an academic year—our fall semester (beginning in mid-August), but we are flexible to extenuating circumstances.

What about the I-20?

Once the admission file is complete (application, application fee, teacher recommendations, results of admission testing and TOEFL, transcript, student supplement, and video remote interview), the Admission Committee will meet to make a decision. Decisions are sent within two to three weeks of the interview.  Archmere issues an I-20 only after an offer of admission has been made and the online enrollment contract, liability form and deposit have been received.
