We’re very excited about the roster of presenters and recommend anyone who is curious about potentially studying any area of business, attend. Invitation and registration to be shared soon.

  • First Year/Sophomore Parent Night - We invite First Year & Sophomore parents & guardians to attend our in-person program on March 30th at 6:30 in the SLC. We will discuss College Counseling’s philosophies, the four-year time line, healthy starts to the college search, and other items. Registration to follow.
  • Senior Student College Coffee - March 30th (work period)
Individual Class News:
  • Seniors: We’ve reached a semi lull in decisions until mid-March. We highly recommend that families begin to, or finalize, their spring visits to attend accepted student days. While there may be more invitations to come with regular decision releases, reserve your spaces and have travel plans with what you know. College Counseling is available to discuss decisions, be a sounding board for students contemplating their options, and discuss financial aid awards. We are still processing scholarship application requests, and an occasional transcript request.
  • Juniors: We’ve opened the Junior Family Meeting calendar - Please visit here if you haven’t scheduled. As a reminder this meeting must occur during a student’s free period or after school. At least one parent or guardian must attend in-person or virtually.
    • In this cycle’s College Seminar class, we discussed using the college qualities student's identified last cycle to search and research schools that have the qualities that you believe will ensure your success and happiness. Please remember the third part of the class – action! Make sure you are informing schools you like that you are interested.
    • Next cycle’s class is about making the most out of college visits. We will share recommendations about what to do before, during, and after visits to maximize the return. We will show you a college’s visit page and noticed that some of the dates during the Archmere Spring Break will be filled and closed - please be sure to schedule those Spring Break trips visits well in advance!
  • Sophomores: Thank you to the 90% of you that completed your CIALFO assignment on time. If our intro to CIALFO, and perhaps an advancement of your college thought process has sparked questions — please email, stop into a counselors office, or approach us on campus. Please know that you’re never a bother to us! Questions are speed bumps, they slow us down - we want to help you progress with accurate answers and good information. We will be assigning counselors prior to Spring Break in order to permit an optional meeting with a student’s counselor prior to course registration.
  • First-Year: Students, please know your questions are always welcome. Please email us, stop into our office, or approach us on campus to talk. We appreciate these early conversations. We will also extend an invitation to all first-year families to schedule an optional summer meeting with a counselor during June, July, or August.
Other News:
  • Mrs. Maher & Ms. Soler accompanied 20 sophomore and junior students on campus visits to Saint Joseph’s University and Rowan University as an initiative to assist students in accessing campus visits. This program was held on Archmere’s February Professional Development Day and we commend those that attended for doing so on their day-off.
  • Mr. Boehm attended counselor programs at Catholic University and Arizona State University in February and was also able to meet with several alumni while in the area. Unfortunately, the weather canceled several other counselor programs to campuses which we hope will be rescheduled.
