Monthly College Counseling Update: April 2020

We also transitioned our "Why Business?" program to a webinar with can be viewed on the Archmere YouTube channel. The channel also includes conversations with the dean and directors of admission at Notre Dame and Swarthmore about present and future impacts of the pandemic on admission and recruitment. Finally, as a new part of our career programming and available on YouTube, we talked with Archmere parent Brad Denning about careers in business consulting. 

Practice Tests

We will be offering free, self administered, practice SAT and ACT exams that our friends at Compass will score. This will help juniors prepare for later than normal testing and also assist them in making good decisions about their college list. Sophomores will be provided the opportunity to practice and decide if they’d like to pursue early testing in the fall. 

 

In most given years we’d be approaching the final week before enrollment deposit deadlines for seniors. With many schools extending their deadlines to June 1, some students may be taking extra time to make the decision. We’re still planning on celebrating our seniors’ accomplishments and futures in May. More news to come. 

 

Ms. Souza presented a webinar for the Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling on “COVID 19 Considerations from Both Sides of the Desk” in mid April and Mr. Boehm was recently approved to present an educational sessions in September at the National Association for College Admission Counseling’s national conference in Minneapolis.
