Reagan Waggoner '23 Signs With Sacred Heart Equestrian Team
Reagan Waggoner, senior at Archmere Academy, made history on Wednesday, November 9, when she was the second Archmere student or graduate to sign a letter of intent to pursue collegiate Equestrian. Reagan will be a member of the Division 1 Sacred Heart University Equestrian Team next fall. Sacred Heart University is a private, Catholic university located in Fairfield, Connecticut.
Under the training of Kaitlyn Skog of Hidden Farm Hunters, Reagan has qualified and competed in several national finals. This year, Reagan qualified for Maclay Regionals and the Dover Medal Finals, an event comprised of multiple rounds and judged on equitation over a course set at 3’6”. Reagan went on to compete at the National Horse Show Hamel Final, the National Collegiate Equestrian Final, and the Junior Hunter Finals East Coast.
A successful scholar athlete, Reagan has maintained a 3.9 GPA while at Archmere and is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. Her course load has included several honors and Advanced Placement classes.
Reagan, who resides in Media, PA, and attended Waldron Mercy Academy for elementary school, says she is especially grateful to her parents for their continued support, along with her trainers and Coach Hajdasz for the opportunity to continue her equestrian and academic career. Reagan plans to major in Biology with a minor in Business at Sacred Heart next fall.
