Senior Caroline Berl '23 Designs Original Wallpaper

Students in Archmere's nationally recognized art program have the opportunity to explore traditional fine arts as well as applied art and industrial design. Advanced Placement Studio Art 2D Design student Caroline Berl '23 experienced the thrill of having her original artwork reproduced on a large scale as printed wallpaper.
Mrs. Silverman's AP Studio Art classes recently visited the Philadelphia Museum of Art and were challenged to create an original work of art inspired by a piece on view. Caroline chose Georgia O’Keefe's Two Calla Lilies on Pink, 1928 (oil on canvas) as her inspiration, and created an original watercolor after returning to the Manor studios. She converted the painting to a digital file and outsourced the mirrored digital pattern into repositionable wallpaper. A section of the wallpaper will be installed on the second floor of the Manor.
