Football Team Makes Headlines for Two Big Wins

On Friday night October 20th, Archmere earned a decisive 44-6 win over Tower Hill. The very next weekend, the Auks ran for 229 yards and held Howard's big ticket offense in check on October 28th at Abessinio Stadium. This was the fourth victory in a row for the football team.
Playing under the lights at Tower Hill, Archmere had five possessions in the first half and scored on four to put the game out of reach. Even with a lightning delay and playing in the rain, the Auks continued to bring the offense. Mike Lang of the Dialog detailed one game highlight in the first half by writing, "With 3:20 to go in the first, the Auks drained eight minutes off the clock in a 16-play drive that ended in dramatic fashion. Facing a fourth down and 10 from the Tower 18, Kempski faked going left, rolled to his right and hit Brendan Burke up the middle. Burke dragged a would-be tackler into the end zone. A two-point conversion made it 14-0."

He went on to write about the game in detail, adding pictures and commentary here.

The very next weekend, Archmere faced Howard, once again playing under the lights but this time at Abessinio Stadium. Last year Howard handed Archmere their first loss since December of 2020, and the Auks were determined to not let that happen again. Focusing on their defense and ground game, Archmere defeated Howard in a thrilling 13-6 win.

Game highlights included a touchdown by Cole Fenice '24 from 1 yard out, marking the first score, and then a fourth down stop by Joshua Cox '26. John Orsini '26 entered the game at QB with 10:48 remaining when the score was 7-6, leading a 12-play scoring drive. His drive included a 35-yard pass on 3rd & 7 from the Auks’ 28. A 9 yard touchdown by Ryan Hagenberg '26 and a critical sack by Jack Chesman '25 all completed the victory.

The Auks will take on Odessa High School next Saturday, November 4th at home. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00am.
