Archmere Students Win Highest Honors in WordMaster’s Challenge

Participating with 541 other school teams and more than 53,000 students from across the country and four foreign nations...
The WordMaster’s Challenge is a national competition for high school students requiring close reading and analysis of many different kinds of prose and poetry. Archmere's eleventh grade tied for fourth place in the nation in the year’s second meet, held in December and several students won high honors for individual achievement:
  • Alexia Hazel ’12 and Katherine Reilly ’12 both placed among the 25 highest-scoring eleventh graders in the entire country.
  • Christine Holmes ‘12, Kathy Huang’12, Daniel Parshall ’12, and Austin Schatzman ‘12 all earned honorable mention.
The team was supervised by Stephen Klinge, of the English Department.
