Jamie Glavin'12 selected as a 2011 Carson Scholar

An Archmere junior, Jamie will be awarded a college scholarship for $1000.
Jamie Glavin '12 was selected as a 2011 Carson Scholar and will be awarded a college scholarship for $1000. She will be formally awared the honor with a certificate and medal at an awards banquet on April 10th in Baltimore.

The Carson Scholars Fund was established in 1994 by Ben Carson, one of the most famous and respected doctors in the world, known for pioneering techniques that have revolutionize the field of neurosurgery, and his wife, Candy. According to the fund's Web site (http://www.carsonscholars.org), the goal of the nonprofit organization is to "to help our children stay competitive in science, math, and technology, as well as balance academic achievement with the high esteem our society gives to sports and entertainment. Each year, scholarships of $1,000 are awarded to students in grades four through twelve who achieve a grade point average of at least 3.75, and who show a true commitment to their community.
