For Delaware’s annual Week of Service April 10-16, which coincide with National Volunteerism Week, Archmere’s Community Service Club is currently planning special outreach programs and attempting to raise awareness in the community about the importance and need for student volunteerism. Carla Markell, First Lady of Delaware, encourages students to visit the Volunteer Delaware website, www.volunteerdelaware.org, using the keywords “Week of Service” in order to find meaningful projects they can do during this special week of service. Archmere has already planned their involvement in HOPE TOTES, an opportunity for students to take home plastic bags, fill them with sample sized toiletries of all kinds and donate back to the Sunday Breakfast Mission in Wilmington. Archmere’s Art department is also working on a mural for St. Max Kolbe, coinciding with Delaware’s second annual Week of Service.
