First up is the return of The Heavy Pets, the Florida-based, Bonnaroo-approved jam band which boasts Wilmington native Jamie Newitt as its drummer.
Newitt, a graduate of Archmere Academy and the University of Delaware, joined the band in 2008. He played Bonnaroo with them the next year, in addition to a homecoming gig at Kelly's Logan House in Wilmington.
Archmere Academy is a private, Catholic, college preparatory co-educational academy,
