Archmere senior David Sang earns National Merit Scholarship

David Q. Sang of Newark, a senior at Archmere Academy in Claymont, was named a National Merit Scholarship winner in the corporate-sponsored round of grants.
David Q. Sang of Newark, a senior at Archmere Academy in Claymont, was named a National Merit Scholarship winner in the corporate-sponsored round of grants. Approximately 1,000 high school seniors won scholarships from some 200 participating cor- porations. Sang received a scholarship sponsored by Cytec Indus- tries Inc., which develops, manufactures and markets chemicals worldwide. The scholarships are awarded to the children of Cytec employees.
Sang qualified as a finalist from a pool of about 1.5 million juniors who took the 2009 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. By the end of this summer, approx- imately 7,800 finalists will have received scholarships.
