Archmere Academy hosts Apple Technology Workshop

Educators from area schools gathered in The Patio at Archmere Academy for a daylong workshop led by Apple representatives on the role of technology in education.
Teachers, administrators, and technology leaders from area schools attended a daylong workshop at Archmere Academy, lead by Pete Oyler and Matt Little of Apple. This event was an opportunity for educators to discuss and evaluate the potential impact technology has for enhancing teaching and learning. Participants spent the day doing hands-on exploration with Apple MacBooks, iPads, and iPod touches, as well as apps and digital content from iTunes U, to examine how these tools could change the learning environment and impact instruction across all subject areas. The event also gave attendees a better understanding of how Apple products can be used to help meet individual students' learning needs.
Objectives for the day included:
- Learning how technology can increase engagement, encourage creativity, and empower learners at every level
- Understanding the ways in which technology can personalize learning and extend learning outside of the classroom
- Becoming aware of a variety of models for incorporating mobile devices and digital content into a learning environment
