Elyse Andrews '12 Signs Letter of Intent to Play at UD

On Friday, November 11, Elyse Andrews ’12 signed her letter of intent to play varsity women’s lacrosse at the University of Delaware next year. An athlete with an impressive resume, Andrews will head to UD next fall with eleven varsity letters (in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse,) three school records, and several athletic awards and accolades.
On Friday, November 11, Elyse Andrews ’12 signed her letter of intent to play varsity women’s lacrosse at the University of Delaware next year. An athlete with an impressive resume, Andrews will head to UD next fall with eleven varsity letters (in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse,) three school records, and several athletic awards and accolades.
Andrews was selected for First Team All-State Girls’ Lacrosse in the 2011 season, and First Team All-Conference during the 2009 and 2010 seasons. She was also named a US Lacrosse High School Academic All-American for the 2011 season. She holds the Archmere Academy records for highest number of single season goals (84,) and highest number of career goals (216,) and shares the record for highest number of goals in a single game (9) in girls’ lacrosse. She was named the Delaware Women’s Alliance for Sport & Fitness 2010 Athlete of Promise and participated in the Delaware Interscholastic Athlete Association Leadership Conference.
Elyse Andrews is an accomplished student, enrolled in several honors and AP level courses and accumulating a 4.2+ GPA thus far. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, and the school’s campus ministry club. Captain of the Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse Team, Andrews is Archmere’s Senior Class President and chairperson of the newly founded Sportsmanship Committee.
In addition to playing for the Blue Hens, Elyse is looking forward to pursuing a Biology major at the University of Delaware.
