Archmere Students Earn Highest Honors in WordMasters competition

Participating with 548 school teams from across the country, Archmere's 12th graders tied for tenth place in the nation in the year's second WordMasters meet, held in December 2011. The team is supervised by Mr. Klinge.
Several Archmere students won high honors for individual achievement. Patrick Reilly '13, Samantha Ciarrocchi '12, Alexa Hazel '12, Caitlin Hedgepeth '12, Nina Reed '12, and john Simons '12 all earned near-perfect scores, placing them among the 77 highest-scoring 11th graders and 124 highest-scoring 12th graders nationwide. More than 54,000 students from across the country (and four foreign nations) participated in the meet. Wordmasters is a national competition for high school students requiring close reading and analysis of many different kinds of prose and poetry.
