Patrick Reilly '13 Named Finalist in JFK Profiles in Courage Essay Contest

Junior Patrick Reilly's essay chronicling former Governor Russell Peterson's fight to pass the 1971 Coastal Zone Act, a landmark piece of conservation legislation that saved Delaware from industrial blight, earned him a spot among the top ten finalists in the John F. Kennedy Profiles in Courage Essay Contest.

Kennedy Profiles in Courage Essay Contest.

There were over 2000 entries from across the nation. The winner will be announced before March 1, and will be awarded $10,000 and an all-expense paid trip to the JFK Library for a celebratory dinner. The Profile in Courage Essay Contest meets several National Standards in Social Studies and English and offers a meaningful opportunity for students to develop and enhance research, writing and critical thinking skills while they deepen their understanding and appreciation of politics and history.
