In addition to her achievements on the track, Brianna was named Archmere Girls’ basketball captain her senior year and earned All-Conference recognition. She was also named 2nd Team All-Conference in field hockey. In total, she has earned 9 varsity letters at Archmere.
Brianna Nelson is a member of Archmere’s chapter of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and has earned summa cum laude honors. She is the founder of “brii’s wii-hab,” an effort to raise funds to provide Nintendo Wii Systems to hospitals for medical rehabilitation.
In addition to competing as a Division 1 sprinter at Loyola University of Maryland next year, Nelson plans to major in Engineering and was awarded the prestigious Christopher Clavious Scholarship.
(Claymont, DE) April 25, 2012 – Archmere senior Brianna Nelson (Glen Mills, PA) has committed to Loyola University of Maryland as a member of the track and field team. A 3-varsity sport student-athlete, Brianna holds three school records in track: the 200M, the 4x100, and the 4x200. She was named Delaware State Champion in both the 4x100 and 4x200 relays. Brianna has also achieved County Champion, All County, State Champion and National Qualifier recognition and has competed in the Penn Relays.
