Senior Patreece Spence Commits to James Madison Volleyball

Archmere’s 2011-12 girls’ varsity volleyball captain Patreece Spence ’12 signed her letter of intent to play as a member of the James Madison University women’s volleyball team next year.
 
 
A four-year member of the varsity volleyball team and two-time captain, Patreece helped take the team to the DIAA State Tournament with a 16-1 regular season record. She was named to 1st Team All-State and played in the Blue-Gold senior game. Patreece also played competitive club volleyball in 9th through 12th grade for Brandywine VBC and DE Juniors, and helped to organize the Archmere and St. Elizabeth’s annual volleyball breast cancer fundraiser all four years. She was nominated for the Gatorade Player of the Year award her junior and senior years.
 
In addition to volleyball, Patreece played two years of varsity lacrosse, two years of varsity track, and a year of winter track. She has worked as a summer camp counselor at a variety of sports camps during her high school summers and is active in the Archmere’s student newspaper, community service club, and French and Spanish clubs. She also works after school at Panzer Dermatology Medical Center.
 
At JMU, Patreece plans to major in Marketing.
